But unfortunately, there has been a lot of misinformation, and blogging lies people still believe in 2022 that most established bloggers have been putting out to the new and upcoming Bloggers.
Sometimes this is because these so-called “established bloggers” say these things so newbies will shy away from doing things on their own and then pay for their services.
If you believe any of these lies about Blogging, it’s nothing to feel bad about, but it’s something of joy, that you will be free to express yourself in the blogging space without fear.
We now have held back truths, clueless gurus, outdated Content has now taken over the blogging spaces due to how fast People are adapting to Blogging.
As experienced bloggers, let’s set some obvious records straight together.
In this article, you will discover some common blogging lies people still believe in 2022, and you may be shocked that you might have been believing in them too, all this while.
MYTHS #1, WRITE FOR HUMANS, AND NOT FOR SEARCH ENGINES:
Are you kidding me?
Wait, before you start thinking I’m high on something, (which I don’t do)
This is one of the myths that I think shouldn’t be allowed in the blogging space.
Although the statement might slightly be true, it has some misunderstanding.
I started Blogging with this phrase in mind, but I bet after reading this article, you will have the right mindset about what the phrase means.
If you focus on writing for humans and not for search engines, that could mean writing articles without prior research on the topic.
That should mean no keywords research, no targeted audience.
If you don’t know what’s trending, or the geographical location of your niche or audience,
then this means you will be writing to “an imaginary audience”, which won’t help you pull traffic from SERP to your website.
MYTHS #2, YOUR ARTICLES MUST HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WORDS TO RANK OR GET TRAFFIC:
In Nigeria, we will say “I’m shaking This Table” Which is a metaphor for “Looking For Trouble”.
Well I’m not, I’m just exposing some myth that will help you succeed in blogging without holding you back.
This is a myth that has some truth in it, I think depending on a particular niche or a metric.
I believe you know that longer articles take higher rankings on Google and other search engines.
However, putting your hopes on such statistics will do you no good.
Driving Traffic to your Blog doesn’t rely on “expert stats”, but how detailed and informative your contents are.
Nice and informative articles make readers take action and share your articles, which in return bring in more traffic.
MYTHS #3, CREATE NEW ARTICLES DAILY TO DRIVE CONSTANT TRAFFIC:
Doing this won’t automatically drive Traffic to your blog, No!
Yes, it’s good to create fresh articles on your blog, that alone won’t get you that 250million traffic.
Instead of focusing on updating your blog with new articles daily, focus more on Content Marketing.
That is what you need to drive constant traffic to your website.
MYTHS #4, BLOGGING IS FREE:
Sorry if I might be discouraging you from Blogging, but it’s the truth.
I’m not talking about creating a Blog for free with platforms like Blogspot.
If you have any intention to make a living out of Blogging, then you need to prepare to spend on your blog.
To professionally start a blog, you need to buy a couple of online tools, Plugins, or Email Marketing software that will help fasten your Blogging process.
The most amazing thing about Blogging is that you don’t need to break the bank to afford these things.
MYTHS #5, BLOGGING IS EASY
Although creating a blog is easier, the process called blogging has to do with creating content for your blog, marketing your content and keeping your blog updated.
This should be the most common myth in blogging, and most times this is the reason why most newbies create a blog and abandon it after a couple of tries and fail.
Your blog can’t become an overnight sensation without investing your time on your blog.
MYTH #6 MAKING MONEY ONLINE IS EASY
Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying you can’t make money online with your blog, I know lots of bloggers that make thousands of dollars, just from blogging.
But it’s not easy to make money online.
All these bloggers making money online, did not start earning from day one, they worked hard, spent a lot of time researching and putting to work what they learnt, before they finally arrived at making money online.
Just stay motivated and work on your blog, and in no time you will start earning something with your blog.
To expose some false statements and beliefs is what has driven me to write this article.
I hope this article has opened your eyes to some false beliefs and misinformation.
Blogging is sweet and can make you more money than you can ever imagine, so stop limiting yourself to lies and misinformation that will discourage you from achieving your Blogging goals.
